On January 15, 2009 a covenant was signed between the Baptist General  Convention of Texas, LifePoint  Fellowship, the Smith Baptist Association , and The Cross.  This covenant signifies that all parties will work together to aid The Cross in becoming a healthy and reproductive church.  Pastor Steve Trammel and LifePoint will serve as primary sponsor.  Ed Hale of the BGCT will serve as church starter consultant.
